About us

The firm was founded in 1988 and has grown from strength to strength since then. Jacques Van Staden has been practising for his own account since 1988. In 1999 the firm was transformed into an incorporated company in order to give more flexibility and freedom to our employees and management team in our operations.

VS & B Inc. is a dynamic, well-established law firm with many years experience in Conveyancing and Property related transactions providing professional legal services and determining legal solutions to a diverse client base. Our firm, as well as our Directors, have been long standing professionals in the property market, not only in the development playing field but also in relation to home loans, Investments, Legal matters, PIP’s, Commercial transactions, Retail transactions, etc. We have had a mutual respect and understanding of all of our clients’ business needs and requirements for many years.

What sets us apart from our competitors is our ability to register bulk developments (sectional title and residential including the first transfers to end users of more than 100 transfers simultaneously) as well as similar bulk registrations of free hold developments in the deeds office registries.

We are currently on the panel of all the major banks, Standard Bank, First National Bank, FNB Housing, Nedbank, ABSA Bank, HIP and SA Home Loans and our strong relationship with the various banking institutions makes it very easy to assist our developers in obtaining the necessary finance for the properties being built and to transfer these properties and attend to the registration of the mortgage bonds to end users.
We have become leaders in our fields and our client base is broad. We do not only provide services to the “man on the street” but also to small/large development or commercial companies.

Staff compliment

The balance of our staff compliment consists of 20 staff members ranging from Conveyancing paralegals, support staff, receptionist, bookkeeper, messenger, personal assistants, signing officials, candidate attorney/s and the like.

“Jacques” is the Founding Director of the firm and has been practicing for his own account since 1988.
He has, in his own right, developed and managed a number of commercial, retail and residential housing projects. Jacques’ roles over the years have included the likes of Chairman of the Alberton Attorneys Association, Chairman and Vice-Chairman of various educational institutions, Homeowners Associations as well as being a Director of numerous other Companies. Jacques’ vast experience makes him an intricate part of the firm as a whole and the legal fraternity at large.
Sherene is a Director, Notary and Conveyancer of the firm who has assimilated a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years in the Industry. Her inherent business acumen has also proved to be an asset not only to the firm but on a client level too.
Sherene is responsible for the firm’s service relationship with numerous clients and institutions and dedicates a vast amount of her time to managing, training and monitoring of staff. She serves on various professional teams for a range of housing development projects. Sherene has a passion for what she does which is clearly visible in the day to day administration of her duties.
“Sai” is an admitted Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public. She has vast experience in the Conveyancing and Corporate fields. She completed her articles in 2009 at a prominent Johannesburg firm, during which time she successfully passed the Conveyancing and Notarial examinations. She gained corporate experience as an Attorney Liaison Officer for RMB Private Bank and FNB Private Wealth.
Her dynamism, enthusiasm and passion for working with people shine in her confidence to step up and lead whilst paying meticulous attention to detail and client service.

Melanie is a well rounded individual whose ambition and integrity is something to be admired. Melanie assists and supports the Directors on a daily basis and has gained a vast amount of experience in both the Conveyancing and Litigation fields.
